Long Island Safer Bars is a collaborative effort between The Retreat, The Safe Center LI, and LI Against Domestic Violence to help give alcohol-serving establishments the training and tools they need to make it safe for all patrons. Nicole talks with Justin about what the initiative is about, and how she's working to help alcohol-serving establishments recognize behavioral red flags, identify instances of sexual abuse and violence, intervene and diffuse problematic situations and ultimately to shift create a safe and welcoming space.

Kristen Ging is a CHM mom - her two sons having CHM, short for choroideremia, a genetic disease that causes blindness. Kristen and her family work tirelessly to raise money and awareness for the condition. This past summer, they started a viral challenge that you can get involved in called Cooling Off for CHM. Post a video of how you like to cool off over the summer, post it to your favorite social media outlet using the hashtag #coolingoffforchm and challenge three friends!
